About

Welcome! I’m Katie, and I’m a Virginia girl, who’s currently exploring the wonders of Pittsburgh, PA. I’m a JMU alum, chocolate enthusiast, casual baker and a runner. To me, life is an adventure unfolding one day at a time, and I’m excited to see where it takes me.

I started this blog in the middle of 2015 while spending four months in Germany through the Junior Year in Munich Program. I titled it Meine Deutsche Streifzüge, which means “my German rambles.” (Fun fact, Streifzüge literally translates to “striped trains.”) Anyway, I thought Streifzüge was appropriate because I wasn’t sure how this blog (or my semester for that matter) was going to turn out. All I knew was that it was going to be a challenging learning experience, and I was excited to open it up and ramble through the contents. And if you check out my posts in the Munich category, you can see that it turned out to be quite an amazing experience.

Since I’m still not sure where life is taking me, I’m wandering from one adventure to the next. And while my striped train ride to Munich is over, I’m excited to see what the next few stops will be.

In summer 2014, my family and I spent two weeks in traveling around northern California. If you’re interested in some funny stories about our adventures and some wacky quotes from my younger brother and sister, check out this blog!
